Hey guys,

Hopefully in the next couple of week il be able to put my engine back on the 'box and put it all back together.

This time round, i am changing to pre verto clutch.

Iv got a lot of the bits... Flywheel, diaphram, back plate and clutch plate, but not 100% sure whats next.

I remember seeing a guide on here a while back of changing from verto to pre verto, which tells me what i need to get.

But what im after is some kind of diagram / breakdown of what/why/where everything goes etc, so when im ordering bits, i actually know where and why there going.

Cheers

i'm thinking if doing the same thing,

i know u'll need a pre verto slave cylinder and clutch arm and the pre verto is a different design and can be adjusted, which a verto can not.

not sure if the punder arm on the salver cylinder is different, not sure if thrust bearing is different as well. pehaps some one will know.

there not a bad diagrame in the haynes manual.

Note the original pre-verto flywheels used the inertia starter - so unless you have fitted a pre-engaged ring gear to the early flywheel - you MUST use an inertia starter.

Thats great, cheers guys.

Regarding the flywheel, are all the pre verto flywheels the same, so i need to put the ring gear on it..?

cheers

It should come with inertia type ring gear..... The inertia starter enters 'from behind'.......

If you want to stick with pre-engaged as opposed to inertia then yes it's likely you'll have to change the ring gear, however there is a slight issue... unless the flywheel is re-machined, fitting the ring gear straight on will mean you'll have to space the starter motor out from the housing otherwise it'll be in the wrong place, and wont engage...

The solution is to go to an utralight on which the pre-engaged ring gear is already fitted and in the right place.

Ahh man, this is working out to be more and more pain! Having the flywheel machines isn't a problem, i know the man who can. BUT... the flywheel and crank were ground lightened and balanced together by minispeed... :D

How does the ring gear fit on? Having the space the stater wont be a problem i guess.

cheers

Seems like an expensive conversion, what's a rough price for all the parts?
