Cant see the point and i'm not sure it would work well on a standard engine. With head and cam you'd probably feel the benefit of the Weber carb.

It's a possibilty once you have improved the engine in many other ways... Would not be my first choice for a carb upgrade - in fact , probably my second last - just before the ghastly 28/36 Weber..........

Depends on spec of engine - HIF 38 on a GOOD inlet manifold is fine for an otherwise standard engine - going up to an HIF 44 as the modifications stack up.

get a modded cylinder head, cooper freeflow manifold, hif38 on a stage 1 inlet, K&N cone filter, and a cam if you have the ability

depends on what kent cam it is, fit a better cylinder head, I still think a hif38 will be good enough up to about 70-75bhp. I'd rather fit twin HS2s than a weber 40 on a 998 personally, generally with engines you want the smallest you can get away with for the power you want

Thats the horsepower region im looking towards, i was thinking of a kent 286 cam, what you recon? i was looking at the twin HS2's trying to figure out whats going to be the best for a 998

A kent 286 will be too much, a 276 would be better... Twin HS2s are great for a 998 but I would use a hif38 to start with.
