I own an austin 998 city
Companys people mention are
Footman james
Peter james
Adrian flux
Aviva
Is there any others worth trying, is so who?
If you would or wouldnt recomend any of the above companies could you explain why? As "i wouldnt touch Flux with a barge pole" doesnt really give me an idea of whats so bad about the company. When others say there good
I got a qoute with fj 820, fully comp 6000 miles, alloy wheels, parked in garage, named driver with no other drivers on insurance but the say they only do policies which you pay in 3 installments ie 160 up front and 220 for the next 3months....is this normal as no one seemed to mention it in any of the MANY posts ive read?
Any help or recomendations would be greatly appreciated
Ps. Would like my own insurance in my name, all mods, no lying....thanks

less than £500 tpf&t for my daughter, age 17, her policy, 6000 miles, but unlimited was about £100 more, (to change later if she gets close) with me as a parent on there as a named driver, but they have suppposed to have gone up a bit recently.
No hassle, paid in one go.
Adrian Flux wouldn't quote, the other two were over £1500.

just to add, im 22 with all my mods declared even down to my halogen headlights and including my stage 1 kit im 22 and fully comp was just over £600,
thats with an agree'd value and im covered on other cars and i build up real no claims (rare on a classic policy).

Do you know if the third party driving extension goes down to 17 year olds? That would be very useful, I've never seen any go below 25 before.
Just had a look on their website, can I ask who the insurer is on the policy?

when i spoke to Flux they said i would be fine, i got them to send me this in writing.
its highly unlikely to the point where i say no chance of a 17 year old getting covered 3rd party,
it would be a case of "yeah my 17YO sons got a 998 mini thats his only car, (ive got a evo VIII on the drive that i wont mention though)"

like i said ive got an agreed value with everything declared, im not using any underhand tactics to get a cheaper quote, i've got the kind of out look of "all the buggers get away with it knowing my luck id get collared".cheap quotes is one thing it when you put a clame in you really find out what they are like

when i spoke to FJ they said you had to be 25 to be covered on other vehicles, i dont have a works van or another car so its very rare i make use of it.

After 17 years of running her around, she can drive me back from the pub occasionally. Squeezing the family into the mini isn't quite as good as her driving my car back though.

Best bet is to get qoutes and then phone them back and see who will beat the qoutes?
Im not in the position to pay up front as i had "issues" with credit cards haha
Wages under court supeener (however you spell it) so im on a budget
Anything around the 800/900 mark and 12 monthly payments is fine
Can you pay monthly with flux?

Sounds reasonable for a classic policy. Go for it.
