Just seems crazy, that certain forum members say they don't want a bini section, don't want to read about the bini etc etc.

But the second there is a thread that mentions the Bini, they seem to be the main posters lol.

Kind of some mis placed inferiority complex. If you don't want to read it, don't click thebloody thread.

Normally yes, but due to the fact that we had to deal with a Sock Puppet Account we had to make it invisible so as to give us time to investigate without them causing more grief.

That makes sense, it would have been good if someone had made that point earlier on, just to save 4 pages of pointless arguing.

I did! See my comment below from page two!

well not being funny or anthing, but perhaps you should ease off of the over moderation abit then and just let people say what they want within reason. I mean it is a forum at the end of the day, you got to take what ever people thing of the subject that is posted

There was a user using a sock puppet account to purposely start an argument. which needed to be sorted before you all got your freedom of speech. Now, arguing with the staff over a thread that has been sorted and reopened is a little bit pointless don't you think?

At the end of the day, mods/admin will do as they please. All I was saying about Jonsey's comment was there was NO need to add the "its our perogative" part. It did not help and only hindered the situation. I know you cammot write on an invisable thread Shifty, but my suggestion was to explain before you made it invisable.

Nothing can now alter what has happened, but maybe things might be different next time a situation like this arises.

No we do not "Do as we Please" we have rules for moderators just like we have rules for members.

And Again, Quoting out of context is not helpful

I suggest you read carefully....I will ask you directly....what was the purpose of adding "its our perogative" to your original sentance?

As far as "Doing as you please", what are members to think if actions are taken with no notice or explaination?

Here is a positive suggestion for all of you. No doubt time is put aside, in the staff room, to discuss any suggestions made by the members. Have a "Currently under Consideration" thread so that members in general, not just the supplier, can comment on the suggestion.

imho its an argument that is unavoidable due to the nature of its content.... it was the same when members have posted looking for advice on mods/mods they are doing/have done or looking for info on legal issues..... everyone gets on their high horses and puts forward their views on the issue. thats what is being done on that post and that seems unacceptable and members freedom to post is then removed from the thread.....
the positive comments remain but the negative can be removed because the banter may offend, is childish and unacceptable is realy no excuse on a public forum where arguments are inevitable and unavoidable

How about those that don't like the Bini, just resisting the temptation to post negative comments.

those that dont like new minis come on here as its a classic forum.

maybe those who love them should stop posting about them every 5minutes giving those that dont something to moan about.

it works both ways.

Sorry but there's no mention of it being made invisible there, that's the bit that I'm talking about.

What some you may not realise is that stuff like this may not be dealt with by just one person.

Just to emphasise this point. I was the admin who was asked to check the sock puppet suspicion out, now when I was asked, I wasn't on TMF at all, I was watching a film. I was called in to help out. There were at minimum 3 people dealing with that topic to get it sorted ASAP.

We have a feature suggestions area in the staff room yes. Sadly, we don't get many oppertunities to look at it as usually when we're online we're having to clean up threads that have been filled with spam because someone wanted a legitimate conversation about MINI's.

Urr, no they don't they come here because they are interested in classic minis. There are many members that own both of them.
Saying that people come here because they don't like BMW mini's is stupid.

Genuinely sorry, I completely read that wrong, after reading it through a few times I see what you mean.
But the people that like them should be able to have a decent, well titled conversation about them in Non-mini chat, and the haters should avoid it, nothing they said was constructive.

Shame the thread was in mini chat...

There are currently 10 Team members and 5 Admin.....surely between them time to consider member's suggestions could be made. Why not put aside an hour a week when you can get most online in the staff room. If you managed to get, say 8 (just over half), you could still sort out problems AND consider suggestions. There was a lengthly thread last year that produced several suggestions and although promised, as yet, nothing has become of them.

As an aside, I have not been on the forum for sometime. It appears it is descending further into puerile arguing, and why does MINIMADJONESY feel it necessary to post in a BOLD RED FONT ? I find it very intimidating. This was such a nice place to be once, what is happening?

Bold red font = admin
Bold green font = moderator

It's not meant to intimidate anyone.

As an administrator of the forum when making a post in my official capacity my text is in bold red. Moderators who post in their official capacity use bold green. And when we are just taking part in a conversation then we us normal text like this!
