Personally i have to say that im just getting into Mini Miglia, looking at photo's and youtube videos etc. Im just wondering as it says in the title what peoples thoughts are about the race series ?

I have a very basic knowledge of the championship,

The Mini Miglia Mini's run a 1293cc a-series with slight modifcations, also a few 1380cc's dot around
The Mini seven's run a 998cc with slight modifications

Both fantasic championships

Opitions please :) would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Ash

I think we have a few people on the forum that are involved, one way or another.
Miglias are the best track racing cars to watch bar none, in my opinion.

Pretty sure they have more than slight modifcations they produce about 140bhp and the engines last a couple of races.

It is very good but also very expensive to race in.

My late brother built and raced Mini's for many years and was a Mini Se7en Champion and front runner in Miglias.........but Miglia is very expensive to build and race a competitive car without sponsorship.

However there is now:
Mini Se7en S Class
The Mini Se7en S Class is aimed at drivers on a budget. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced driver returing to racing, the Mini Se7en S Class allows you to join the Mini Se7en grid. With modifications and improvements strictly limited the budget for a season in an S Class car is going to be affordable. While racing with the more highly tuned Se7ens, an S Class car isn't going to be a 'tail end charlie', top 10 finishes are perfectly normal here.

Engine Std 1275cc A Series: strictly limited modifications
BHP 103
0-60mph 7.5 seconds
Top Speed 103mph
Min Weight 680kg
Transmission Std production 4 speed
Tyres Dunlop 500Lx10 CR70 or CR65 treaded
Wheels 5J x 10 STR 1082 (100+) or MA1050 (Minilite)
Fuel Commercial pump fuel: UL or super UL

What do you want to know about them?

I know a fair bit - been involved with migs and sevens for the last 6 years, built a few and been to pretty much every meeting.

The work involved in building and maintaining one of these is absolutely monstrous as is the money involved.

I am interested :)

I think one of the class, not sure Miglia or Seven, have to use the standard brake master cylinder and rear drums.
So i would like to know the brake set-up on those cars (rear cylinders size, which brake pressure limiter, ...).

Thanks.

Rear drums have to be retained, no rear disc setup, however they are modified.

There aren't any rules about bore sizes for master cylinders, most use remote reservoir systems with pedal boxes. brake pressure limiting valves are used mainly to cut down what the rear brakes do.

That book is ok, but its quite old now, things have moved on a fair bit.

I have read it but found it a bit annoying, i personally thought that it didn't really say that much, which is fair because at the time of writing Bill was still competing in the Migs so wouldn't give away all his secrets.

If you really want to learn then come to a meeting and talk to us.
