just wondering if anyone here has pictures of their wheels that have been banded.

ive got some cooper s reverse rims that i will be fitting to my car when ive sorted brakes out etc.

just wondering how wide to go with them, im thinking only an extra inch as tyres may be hard to find, and im not sure of the idea of massive arches to cover them.

theyll also be powdercoated in a lovely deep metallic green
:D

by the way i have searched but not keen on hunting around for a way to use the search function properly

The maximum limit on 10's should be 6 inches for piece of mind as this is the maximum size you can get the tyres for.

People do put the same tyres on 7 inch wide 10's and go for the stretched look. Dont get me wrong it looks absolutely awesome but I would be too worried that I have an accident, write the car off then Mr insurance assesor comes along and says ooops you were running tyres outside of their designed specification we are not paying up tough?

id be a bit worried, but the stretched tyres look awesome,

i dont think ill be going to 7 inch wide, 6 will be the limit because i think on minis the tyres should always look chunky

a one inch stretch is nothing though is it? i mean you get the driftr boys who are running like 17" rims with tyres that are ment to be on 14/15's. got to admit the EURO look is amazing

Stretch is to do with the width.....

And I think the maximum width a 10" tyre is designed to fit is 5.5" according to Yoko

how wide do you think i could go?

just for arguments sake, as i dont think ill be going stupid with it. i want to have it wide enough to not run arches too, but not too much because i dont want to get pulled all the time.

can get away with it sticking out a little bit i reckon anyway.

maybe a two inch band on them? its cheaper as for a 1" band they have to be laser cut too

The aren't banded they're 6x10 Wellers but it'll give you an idea of what a wide steel with a traditional centre look like.

Thers going to be SOOOOOOO many of us rockin black (or dark coloured) banded stealies this year! :D

They look especially good on long wheel based minis IMO. 10x7 black banded stealies are going on my pick up
