Evening all. I'm wanting to attach a camera to my front bumper and am just wondering how I could go about it and which mini/spy camcorders to look at. Don't really want to spend more than 50 nicker.

If anyone has such footage from their Mini I would love to see it.

Stick it on with some velcro pads, it can be pulled off when ever you want then

There are better ones than the spy camera

link

Any of these for example. Comes with many mounts and ways of securing it... i would also use the strap to secure it, just velcro wouldnt be sufficient

Saw that on a post on Pistonheads IIRC. Think there's a 2 week waiting list because of high demand.

Just remembered firebox.com.

EDIT: @ Charlie.

Had a look at an ebay ad before creating this thread and there wasn't a picture of how it's mounted. More research required. HD would be lovely though.

if you look on some of the adverts you can see the different mounts, my ones currently screwed into my dash, mount permently on the dash but i can pull the camera out fine

Thats what my cameras taken before, needs rubber mounting as my cars a little bumpy and stiff but its not bad for £20 i think!

Still not entirely sure how I would mount it to the bumper. Saw a picture of someone who used parcel tape.

Just seen the MD80 on Amazon for £13.

Bolted one to my towing eye at Oulton park a few weeks ago. It was a bit dark and misty but it wasnt bad for £15 including a 4gig memory card. Shame I ran out of fuel and needed a tow back (without a tow eye!!!)

How about drilling a small hole in your number plate and attach to the back of the number plate?

MD80 and their copies are good, get a decent memory card in them though as they are glitchy with cheap ones.

Then velco, zip tie, blue tac them where you want. They're so light a bit of wet tissue will probably hold them.

Yeah, been reading about glitchiness. I'll get a MicroSD card from work. Glad to hear they're light and 2 hour battery isn't too bad for the money.

I held mine on with an exhaust clamp very easy and cheap and less chance of it dropping off.

Trouble is the cheap ones are naff quality, vibrate everywhere & the sound is awful. I might be wrong! but I've always seen crappy quality videos.

I know the GoPro ones are well suited, but damn expensive.
