Gear Selector Removal Problem!

i have a 998 mini and im in the process of taking the engine out

But...

im having a little problem removing the gear selector at the engine end. it is a rod type selector and has this little rod this that connect it to the gear selector and im having trouble getting these little rods out

anybody know a way of getting them out???

Theyre called roll pins. Put it into reverse which will enable you to get a roll pin punch onto it to knock it out. If you dont use the right tool, you'll just jam the pin harder into the hole which will mean it'll need cutting off.
