Clubby Estate Gets New Engine

The new engine is standard bore 1275 with worked big valve head, 276 cam, 1.5 roller rockers, duplex vernier, centre oil pickup etc etc. Quick few pics of engine for you -
Old manky engine bay -
Engine out -
I'm planning on painting the whole car in the spring/summer so will do the engine bay before the new engine goes in.
Today steamed cleaned the engine bay & done the whole car while was doing it -
Then started attacking it ready for new paint. Got half way there today, didn't find too much filler or horrors which I was quite pleased about. Just one crack in thr inner wing which I knew about -
That's it for now, will update as & when there is any progress.

Bit of a difference between the old & new cones -
Sitting a bit high now but hopefuly when the engine is in & it's settled down it'll be ok as the hi-lo can't go much lower -

looks better with those wheels now, only just noticed.
yeah they definately suit it a lot better than the revos.
you can go offroading now lol looks good though mate! ill be droppin a 1275 into my clubby van soon too (once ive finished all the bodywork and got it painted of course!)
yeah it is certainly sitting a bit one sided until i get the other side done! I didn't know you were panelling yours in?

yeah check out my build thread, got one side in(and not just flat sheet, actual mini van sides ) just need to get the other side done next week, then its finishing small bits off and hopefully in paint next month, ready for the fit up for this years london to brighton!

The plan is to have it back on the road & MOT'd for Brooklands, then the full re-spray will come in the spring/summer for the show season & when I'm not so busy.

engine waiting to go in -
Then today painted the subby up & started putting things back on -
Pretty much ready to drop the engine in now . I'm well happy with the colour, it's such a nicer blue.
