Make a cold feed pipe too...
Fit a K&N
You will get slightly more pwer due to the mass of COLD air

don't make alot of difference on a Mini though, but it does look good.

I read a report somewhere. Some guy did a study by using a thermometer next to his carb and one at the front of the grill. It was exactly the same temperature during nearly all driving conditions apart from when static. So a cold air feed would do bugger all really.

i have got a k&n replacement filter in the standard airbox with a few "extra! holes in it.

sorry to high jack this post but if i put a twin carb on my 998 cc mini
year 1988 will it give me more power

on a 998 twins will be very beneficial i think.

They are not harder to setup than a single and they do not go out of tune quicker.

You will notice a difference with them on.

Plus JC conversions used them and John Cooper kinda knew what he was doing!!

Pipercross... K&N are too common. Pipercross has a unique sounding. :cry:

calver has got a new design ITG filter out for the hif44 tis lush but expensive at nearly 80 quid, comes with a ram pipe tho.

i will be getting one as soon as i can afford it. :cry:

I've used both, and find you get better life out of a K&N, especially if you clean it...

how do you clean a K&N. I've got an element filter and thin it could do with aspruce up but not sure how to do it.

In the sink with water?

I put mine in the washing machine, and sprayed after with 3in1 oil

Neither, standard air fil is best.

With changing the engine sounds ruff, the carb needle needs re-adjusting intakes, etc

Too much hassle but...
