Gosh....

Didn't realise there were so many responses to this....

To answer some questions....

Condition is not taken into consideration, but like a parkers guide, those in 'project' state generally work their way down to the minimum and those in good... towards the top...

Juju, I did look at the sample and worked out that it was only the upper level which were outside 2 sd's from the calculated mean, therefore would have given a distorted view.

Comparing the two not as much of a fall as I thought there had been over the last 6mths. Very interesting to read and the 60+% dont sell figure shocked me. Summer has been bad weather and price wise be interesting to see the full years chart later on.

Here's something new...

It shows what is best described as an island contour map of the volume of sales by year and value, therefore the likely sale value of a vehicle.

That just looks overall lower because of the shape  although I do like the tiny antisocial 'Mini' islands out on their own
Brilliant stuff!

Where did the data come from? like are they advertised prices or sold prices? I really interested to know mostly because i see a lot of the late mpi's advertised 6-8k and id really be interested to know if people are actually buying them for that money?

If you'd bothered to look the last data was produced in August 2011.... also as you may have noticed from the graph posted in August 2011 the data for the pre 70's cars is a lot more dispersed than the consistent results for the 80's and early 90's....
