Looking at your pictures, I am glad you left the lip intact for now, good bit of cutting you did and keeping the arch brackets well done, a job and a half by the looks of it, but you are on the right track there, b4 welding tomorrow, clean all the pannel edges rigth back to the metal, anymore rust there cut it out,especially the battery box, rust will keep re-appearing otherwise. You can do the lip first aslong you brace the panel as close as possible to the lip allowing you enough space to work on the lip.

im going to be doing my boot repair section very soon.... so any pics of the underneath and where youve cut and welded etc would be very helpful

hi mate will post sum pics for you 2moza so i can show you how it looks sofar the floor panel is mostley welded in but i run out off gas so still have a little welding to do then
1 have the 2 streanthening plates to put in both side
2 the rear valance to put in and weld
3 the back wheel arch plates to the valance
got sum small plates to put in the boot floor were there is sum rust holes , then iam going to fill all the boot so you cannot see the join
p.s mate minimuk's post is a good one to look at aswell for this repaire hope this helps

sprayed the wheels and dent on the n/s quarter.
2nd got a little time on the mini over the bank holiday to do a bit more to the boot floor just needs a bit of filler to finish it off


and cut out the n/s floor pan and sill so just need to weld it in when i get time

Thanks matey it may be a few weeks again before i do sum more as my weekend work is getting more and more and time at home is less and less

Doing a good job yourselves there,... welding is looking ok but high on the surface, what is the penitration like on your welds?
To be honest the penitration looks good to me but i am welding outside and there was lots of wind yesterday so i had to have the gas up high plus as my welding is not the best at the mo iam doing a line of tacks why dose it look sh*t
