ive seen the posts on people fit KA dashes into their mini's but has anyone fitted the engine into one, just curious to know.

why would you? the KA engine is a million year old design,

What and an A series is modern by comparison.I thought Mosses knocked up the A series while he had nothing to do on the ark.Totally agree on why you would even consider putting a ka in a Mini though.

Ecotec engine = bad

What's up with ecotec engines? Last time I checked the 1.8 zetec engine made less power and did about 7 miles less to the gallon than the 1.8 ecotec. The ecotec also seem to be cheaper to buy second hand, probably as they are more reliable and so fewer people are buying them as replacements.

As everybody else has said it isn't worth the effort and money putting the Ka engine into a mini. If you want to do a small 1.3 litre engine swap to a mini I would look at doing either a suzuki or micra engine conversion. Both are more powerful, have been done before and as they are not ford engines I would say less likely to go wrong and will drink less fuel.
