All that work and they couldn't get the panel gap right?

Not everyone is perfect.... ITS A MINI!!!

have to say the door fit/a panel match is bloody awful especially when you look at how much work has gone into the rest of the car.

That's what I was surprised at. A huge ammount of work went into the car as a whole and someone's obviously very talented, but a badly fitting door stands out a mile.

i remember seeing that chopped van at mini in the park a good few years back and IMO its not exactly amazing. i wouldnt be surprised to find allot of that car is not as good as you would like as regards filler and the like.

i have just fitted suicide doors on a mini in building for someone else. it is hard to get the door gaps right, but it has to be bang on, otherwise this happens... internet nit picking. which is why the car im building will hopefully be perfect.

anyway i did the suicide door by buying a mini door aperature panel, which is basically the doorstep, and all the way up and around the side and the top. basically the panel that is closest to the door all the way around (hope you know what i mean). then i welded the entire thing into the wrong side of the car, and fitted the door from the opposite side too, but then its a 4 door (sort of) so this wont exactly help you on a standard 2 door

if you are doing it to a standard shell it really shouldnt be too tricky at all if your good with a welder and have an eye for detail. if your in the mids i could do this job for you??

sorry but not nit picking. if people build a custom/show car and leave door gaps/alignment like that then they should be bloody ashamed

i knew i shouldnt have put that. thats not how i meant it to sound!

i totally agree that the door gaps are shocking! all i meant was that i dont want a car i build to have any points that anyone can pick it up on. i have heard people openly mocking cars in earshot of the owner, and its not something i ever want to be on the recieving end of!
