you with the aa/rac? when kwikfit bodged my car i didnt want to drive it back to them for repair as they left the driveshaft not connected properly causing the whole car to shake. I rang up my recovery and they took my car from my house to kwikfit to be repaired as a free call out. They can only do it once per problem, i.e they will tow it for repair but not there/back/there/back til its fixed.

You can drive to and from a pre booked MOT

You can also drive to a "designated place for prescribed repairs. "
Not many people know that

With regards to the questions about being towed with dodgy brakes, I'll be honest and say I didn't think all that much about the dangers of rear-ending the leading car compared to just driving it. It's been a while since I last drove my Mini so can't really remember how good or bad they are but I know they could be much better, even for drums. And yes, I have tried bleeding and adjusting them but I'm not confident in my abilities being a novice.

j519ldv: I'm not with either organisation but have really been meaning to!

Jesus: Ahh that's good to know.

I'm starting to lean more towards driving it there, avoiding the busiest roads which won't add much more time to the journey.
