i want to fit cooper s brakes to my mini.

it is a clubman estate with reverse rims with std drums.

i DONT wont arches, but been told many times that it will because the track will be 2" wider.

so hows he doing this? as this is how my mini looks now on drums? (from nov 2010 issue miniworld)

Technically that car should have arches anyway.
Are those reverse wheels in the pic or regular 4.5" S wheels?

You can just fit Cooper 'S' standard offset 4.5 x 10 under a non-arched Mini, but reverse rims will definately need arch extensions to remain road legal.

they are "4.5x10-inch dunlop reverse alloys"

Well they are not alloys, and I would doubt they are reverse ones either if he has 7.5" discs.

I tried a set of those and they won't legally fit under the standard Cooper 'S' body without arch extensions.

more research has uncovered that the dunlop reverse rims have an et of 16 making them able to stay slightly further under arches

But they still definately need arch extensions.

You don't want reverse rims for this, you want Cooper S rims. They are not the same thing contrary to popular belief, there is a lot of confusion about this but the Cooper S rims are designed to keep within the bodyline when fitted over S discs. Having said that, it's unlikely you'll want to use original size tyres so you might still have some tread protruding.

No matter what you try, Reverse rims on isk brakes will stick out, it's just how much which is the question.... the old trick is to use the 'Delux' body trim round the seam and arch which can be made to look like the wheel is covered... and if you lower the suspension, at the front this will bring the top of the wheel in

This is Reverse Rims on 7.5" disks...

you could get your rims cut down the middle and a inch removed before welding them back together

(a bit like banding but remove metal not adding it)

Or buy a set of cooper S rims, as it would be a lot cheaper...

I am aware of the difference in the offset. I just really like the look of the steels with some lip showing :techsupport:
