Are you quite sure it is illegal..as in really ILLEGAL!... or would I be ollowed to drive in certain conditions... like no sunny days and not at night! Where might I chech to find the law as it stands?im sorry to be the bearer of bad news but its illegal...imagime if your driving down the road and the sun was shinning on it..there would be fatalities all over the shop, and the road... :fear:

, alternativly you could get some plastic film like the signwriters use in chrome finish they can lazer cut it to size and apply it as a wrap (like the sky vans)
And i can not belive there is a law against chrome cars
but maybe they would find a law against distracting other drivers
if it was illigal to have a reflective car .... glass would be illigal...and chrome grills ...and police car reflective stuff

The paint has metallic pigments designed to mimic a chrome finish, a black base coat is painted on first followed by very light coats of the chrome effect until the desired effect is reached, its then lacquered over for the real effect of chrome.
To paint a mini chrome will cost you in the region of £3000, bare in mind a lot more prep work goes into chrome painting a car, as you’ll see ever last imperfection if its not prepped right.
I’ve just quoted a guy £3500 to chrome paint his mini inside and out.
