Would you object to paying £5 per year to receive multiple discounts on parts, panels, insurance and have the ability to post as many ads as you like? Please consider that, for example, £100 spent at minispares would mean that TMF paid for its self AND made you £2.5 and the average ebay ad will cost way in excess of £5.

Question is: Do you think all these benefits are worth £5?

I paid the £5 (and will continue to do so) to support the forum rather than for the discounts.

I shop around for most things and have discovered that I usually get the best prices from other companies even taking the discount into account.

The classified stuff is not relevant to me as I have posted over 150 times.

Before we get any further with this poll I think a few things need to be cleared up.

- Are you asking if TMF should have compulsory subscriptions?
- Are you still suggesting that TMF+ users only should use the classifieds?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "yes" then this Poll is an utter waste of time. TMF was set up for enthusiasts and is run by enthusiasts, its not a buisiness and no-one is looking to make money(or TVR's) out of it. The forums finances are healthy and the future of the forum is secure for the forseeable future

I can speak for all of the TMF team when I say that we have NO interest in trying to force people to pay to use TMF, thats just ludacris and not what TMF is about.

I keep telling you that there are many ways to contribute to TMF that don't involve money and I'm really now getting sick of doing so. We are not a money driven forum, we don't see our members as walking wallets. All we want is to provide a nice environment where people can come together and talk about minis.

I really hope that this finally clears thing up and its the last time I'm going to be repeating myself on the subject.

the original queastion was 'can TMF make you money '

as a trader the answer is a resounding YES ...... one of the biggest forums around gets a lot of attnetion - not to mention popping up on google searches in usually the top 5

:P

if you google ' sticky fingers decals ' it comes up 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 5th, 6th on the search - and thats not through any of my doing - all thanks to the Forum and its members :)

I dont subscribe to any google-ness, or use any promotional tools - so I can only put it down to what happens in here :D

Shifty, just close the topic and any other that arise in the same nature.

People, there is a section explaining the forum rules. Read them, usually answers any questions.

Lastly I don't hear anyone gurning to eBay about fees and what not. So stop giving mods/admin a hard time.
They have better things to do on this forum than repeat themselves on a daily basis about something that has been dealt with numerous times.

Enough is enough like.

Rant over. :D

My reply to this is " Read the Question" .If I had wanted to ask "should TMF have compulsory subscriptions" that would have been the question. And the word "suggestion" does not appear. But I do have one question for you: Why does TMF+ exist?

I think you are mistaking this thread with the "stupid rules" thread. This poll is just asking an opinion, nothing more.

"suggestion" does not appear. But I do have one question for you: Why does TMF+ exist?

To provide a great service to our members. You may optionally pay £5 and receive a host of great discounts from various companies that offer parts and services for Minis.
