Hi guys, getting some 13x5 Wellers for my Mini.
Just wonder as I have some grp5 arches, what size spacers could I use to make the wheels fit the arches?
I will be lowering the car, with GAZ adjustable shocks, so I can se the high and smoothness, once up and going, but I want the tyres to just poke out from the arches...
Also, what tyres would you recommend? I like the look of them tyres that have minimul tread... bit like a racing slicks... but I would imagine their hell in the wet?
Would need a tyre thats 50/50 and great for grip etc... I have Toyo's on my fiesta and find them spot on... can you get them for 13x5? Would like to make the wheels look fatter than what they are too...
ta
Oh p.s. anyone got any pics, of 13x5 with grp5 arches?

To be honest a 13 x 5 is a pretty rare size for a mini, I haven't seen any fitted myself.

I said that too, but these wellers are 13x5 with Mini stud holes, mainly wanted 12x6, but these were a price I couldn't re-fuse.
Would you say spacing the back a tad more than the fronts would imporve my handling, as I know with 13's my handling won't be as good as 12's.
Thinking, 1.25" on the back, and 1" on the front?

I'd definitely not recommend spacing the back out farther than the front. in my opinion it seems to make a car alot more twitchy at the back, I drove a car with 185/55 x 15s on the front and 195/50 x 15s on the rear and it made it feel totally wrong. It was almost like a fake oversteer because the rear track was wider, I put the wider ones on the front and it became a totally different car.
The mini you've got, does it have spacered rear drums and disks up front?

Yes it has spaced rear drums, and disks at the front, just remembered that when I wrote the thread...

well, to be 100% honest, I wouldn't recommend spacers either way, especially not 1" ones as they are a bit overkill IMHO (people are welcome to correct me though).
But if you do go for spacers, use as small as you can get away with and make sure you use extended studs, but screw-on extensions.

No even I think it'll be too much thinking about... I did genually forget it comes with spaced drums.
How far out for the spced drums make the wheels then?
Also still info on tyres

wellllll
tyres, erm, you can get the Toyos in a 175/50 x 13" I believe, though I personally think that 175 is a bit too wide for a 5" rim. I would have to look into it, but I think you may have to look at a like a 165/55 or 60 series, but don't know what is available, then you have clearance issues on the back because of the higher aspect ratio.
Hmmm, I will have to do some research bud!

Ta mate, although I said, I want fat looking wheels, I alos want a lower profile.. fuss in I.
Maybe something like 2" from rim to ground clearance, can't remember which number it is?
such as I have 185/80x14 on my fiesta, (I think is it the 80 the profile?)
if so, I want less than that! but not like an elasticband for a tyres type profile..

yeah, 80 is the aspect ratio or the profile in that casesuch as I have 185/80x14 on my fiesta, (I think is it the 80 the profile?)
185mm wide tyre AR of 80 and 14" rim.
Some tyres (mainly metros, motegos and maestros had metric rims (which never really took off)
so you could get like 165/65 r 315 for example!
Anyway, I would say that the general 13" tyre of choice for a Mini owner is a 175/50 x 13", but as I said earlier, maybe a little wide for your rims!
