Help :sad:

I’ve taken the rusted hinges off my 2nd hand driver’s door
That I got off a mate for a £10, complete :tongue:

As he had plans to turn the mini into a trailer :wub:

But in doing so I’ve found this :huh:
(See pics)

The bottom corner was covered by a light skim of filler
Probably done when it was re-skinned

The rest of the door if rust free and sound :w00t:

Can this be repaired or is it time to look for a new door?

Thanks,
<karl>

I had a similar problem with a second hand door that i bought. To fix it just carefully weld the cracked area back together. Before i did this i put a bolt in one of the hinge bolt holes to ensure that the bolt was exiting squarely. After this grind weld till flush and repaint.

Hope this helps.
