Testing the water with this one

97 Mpi Mini Cooper.

I am selling my mini cooper due to not driving him much and also having the use of another car.

Apple Green with Black Roof
1293cc Twin Point engine
119,000 Miles - Full Engine rebuilt 9,000 miles ago
EBC water pump
Mini Spares 4 pot brake callipers (less than 15 months old)
Ultralight 12x5.5 alloys (black) with 4 good Yokohama a539’s
Acewell Digital Speedo
MG ZR half black leather seats (front)
All Black Rover Steering wheel.
Volt, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Vacuum gauges

Good Points

Passed last MOT first time.
MOT until October 2011
Amazing Brakes
Real Head turner
Large 306 battery
Injectors recently ultra sonic cleaned
Inlet manifold rebuilt

Bad Points

Requires new back box for the next MOT (advisory @ last MOT)
Rear arches have been patched and will require replacement
Road Tax runs out end of May 2011 (I will not tax the car but I can tax it at your expense)

Engine Starts first time and runs, however I have had an issue with the car over fuelling and not running right since the last MOT. Car pulls away but coughs and splutters. Occasionally you get a slight backfire in the inlet manifold. Gearbox was professionally rebuilt 2 years ago and is in great condition. Since the last MOT I have covered around 500 miles (if that) and the car sat in the underground garage all of November, December and January. Started every week on the first turn of the key.

This car is sold for Repair or Spares. I will not break the car, as I don’t want half a car left in my garage. The car will need to be picked up in Edinburgh by trailer due to the above reason. I will not deliver

The car currently has a private plate in the car. This is not part of the sale. This will be removed and the original plate restored

how much would it cost to fix her up so she runs properly?

To be honest I don't have the time to deliver the car. The car is listed as pick up only. The car does drive but its very lumpy.

As for costs. I don't really know. I have been tinkering with him for a few weeks now but still can't get to the route of the issue. I plan to get the car on the code reader to help out a bit.

Ideally this car is sold as seen and is a project or for breaking.

Body work is fair

Genuine rover sills, wings and a panels were replaced a 3 years ago. Waxoiled and Painted with red primer and black hammerite before fitting.

Paint work is ok. Could do with a rub down and a relaquar. I did plan to do this but not got the time or £££.

Acewell digital Speedo, has Milage, Rev Counter, Top Speed, Trip, Fuel and Water Temp. Center Gauges are Volts, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Vacuum Gauge (gauge is not connected but pipe work is in place) Alarm LED in the center.

MG ZR seats. The drivers seat has a Harness, I can provide the Passengers harness as well. Rear bench is Black Cloth but I have the orginal MG seat covers that can be fitted to the mini back seat. Just not had time to do this

Powdercoated Black Ultralight wheels with Flush Fit valves, orginal rover Wheel nuts and Yokohama A539's. Fronts are less than 500 miles old and rears have lots left.

Also forgot to mention the car has 1.5 negative camber on the front , adjustable tie bars, new Ball joints. The rear has been set to 1 degree negative camber and has new brake shoes. Car was laser aligned last year. Hi lows fitted all around, new Rover Rubbers fitted on the rear 1 year ago. Gaz Lowered shocks all round.

Yes the car is still for sale.

In the first post I said

As soon as you place any load on the engine in reverse or in forward gear the car splutters and coughs and stalls. I think its a senor related issue but I am trying to borrow a code reader to rule this out.
