I'm hoping you could give me a value on my 1275 MG Metro engine that is currently in my mini. The mini is to be broken so its going to be for sale.
Its had many things replaced including the gearbox for a second hand one which is quiet and makes no crunching etc. New clutch plate, crankshaft oil sea (the one that stops oil getting to the clutch plate), distributor cap, new spark plugs, HT leads, oil filter.
Including radiator which doesn't leak at all. Gearbox has a 3.1 final drive and cruises really nicely!
Anything else needed just ask. No pictures currently because its still in the car!

£250 tops. I know 1275's are getting sort after but not by that much. I Paid £155 for one which was a mg lump, needs a rebuild but is in good servicable condition. I payed £200 for another which was in a running car before being removed.

With the dip in prices nowdays, id say about £200, £250 if your lucky. They WERE going for £400 last year but I think those days are over unless your really lucky
EDIT:
Found the ad, look at the condition of this car and the details of this sale and tell me a MG engine is worth £400 by itself!

i have just sold 2 mg metro engines running fine with no alternators, starter motors etc and they made £350 each.
Nice price!
Geeze the prices seem to be all over the place!
My advice mate is to hold out for the right price then. seems like the buyers with the cash are out there.....?!

The most i've ever paid for an engine is £110, and that was the 1293.
Some people dont know what theyre selling, and at £400 some idiots dont know what theyre buying!
I have sold all of the above engines apart from 2 MG Metro lumps which are in mine and my girlfriends and I sold all of them for more than I payed for them, sold the 1330 for £300 which was the most (without its gearbox as well)
