I'm currently running around 76bhp last time it was on the rolling road, would this system be more of a benefit if the engine was in a higher state of tune ie reaching the limit of the MEMS capability which I believe is around 85bhp from other posts i've seen. Or would I see a benefit in it's current state of tune witha rolling road session once installed?

I have just fitted a Typhoon ECU using the SPi plug-play kit. My engine is a bit modded:
Richard Longman GT6/6 (5port) head
Swiftune 1293 block/crank etc. balanced.
Piper 255 cam
roller 1.5:1 rockers
I have been using the standard rover mems ecu up to now.
The guys at SC supplied me with a .cal file which was thought to be a reasonable match for my engine. It runs ok at high revs but seems to run way too rich at low revs and tends to stall. i appreciate this is all fixable if i get the right mapping.
Would like to possibly compare/swap mapping info? CIAN above - are you up for emailing me your .cal file??
Is there a forum specific to users of this ECU on the Classsic Mini - or is this it??

Get it on the rollers and get it mapped to your engine??

this is probably the most sensible and quickest solution (if a little costly) but i wanted to try various mini-spi-based maps, and get an idea of the characteristics of each from driving the car....and then try to develop my own map..!

Timecot i thought the same thing but looking at the software and all the drop menues i just left it alone after it was mapped lol! It is an expensive mod but i would highly recomend it dump the rover unit!

i have this ECU... dont use it very much though, when i first got it it caused my car to stall if i let revs drop to an idle, but i emailed SC who where very helpfull and offered for me to go to them and have them get it so it would work (not tune it) just so i could see that the ECU was perfomring correctly, you can notice a difference and to me a very good bit of kit
