Hi,

the throttle pedal on my mini is very sensitive...

Stop picking on it then. We can all be sensitive at some time or another, a nice warm loving hug may help.

I've tried that but it just growls at me

How much should be in the dashpot?
and how can I tell when I've got enough?

Remove the dashpot plunger / damper, squirt 3 or 4 times from an oil can down the centre - where the plunger runs. Replace plunger. Repeat every month.

Not really no.

but the linkage does...... if the OP can put a photo of his/her carburettor up on here ? the side that has the throttle linkage on it would be preferable.....

Put 3-4 squirts in, then put the plunger in. If it feels like there is resistance as it goes down, then thats fine.
