I am rebuilding an engine which is a 1275 A+ and it has a strange engine number. The engine must have been imported from either UK, New Zealand or Japan. It had the usual tag riveted to the block in the usual spot but the numbers are a bit strange. Can any one please help me identify what this is ? Number is ... BHM1455N112 . I was always under the impression that 1275 engines should start with 12H Thanks Guys.

BHM codes are normally replacement engines i think, but a new unit and not a reconditioned one.

In agreement with the previous post. I too have a block with a BHM prefix which was an replacement block I had from rover via a Rover dealer/garage back in the early 90's.

Agreed, it's a goldseal factory replacement.
BHM1458 = LC piston,CAM6267 cam,late A+ mains cyl head, 998cc, Mini A+
BHM1460 = HC piston,CAM4717 cam,late A+ mains cyl.head, 998cc, Mini A+
etc etc, can't find a BHM1455 though.
