Having said all that, At the Autosport show there was a Mk1 golf with a front mounted turbo'd hyabusa engine! Running 350Bhp. with a prop shaft running down down the car for RWD!

Hmmm Very nice!

Didn't get a pic though. Was no space left on my memory card after all the ladies! :cheese:

if you go front engine and FWD you'll have an ace mini but you'll still wish you'd gone for the mid engine dispite the extra work.

thanks for your replys, i almost certain i'm gonna go for mid engined now, its gonna be more of a track motor for the first few years of it life, due to insurance costs, guessing their gonna be fairly high bein only nearly 19 at the mo

What engine are you looking at using, what is approximately your budget and how much power/ torque are you looking to have? Any idea on the on the mass of the engine you want to as this can make a big difference in the handling.

First of all, I'm new to the Forum so, Hi guys!
I´m working on r1 conversion mini only for trackdays by pro-motive kit, thinking of fwd is cheaper, easier for driving and quicker to convert. But How much do you think it will be slower than a midengine rwd?
i´ve been looking for this along the forum but i haven´t found your opinions, so I´m looking foward your replys.

Well it was a while ago now but I think the one I saw was british racing green. So no not that one. Also that one looks very raw, the one i saw looked very sleeper styled! Just looked like a very clean mk1 golf until you saw under the bonnet! >_<
