So a couple of weeks ago I fitted a stage 2 Freeflow LCB manifold from Maniflow. And a twin box side exit inch and seven eighths exhaust system...But I found over the past 2 weeks that I really miss the rasp from my old exhaust.....Sooooooooooooo...

And the old 2 inch straight through system refitted..

Of course I retained the LCB, as its a beauty...... Now I know ive had to sacrifice a few horses but I just love the noise from this exhaust. And to be honnest Ive got plenty in the stable anyway LOL.....

So do you think im mad?

I agree, although my rc40 would make slightly better performance for my 1275, I prefer the sound of my playmini exhaust, and remarkably is no louder inside when cruising, but has a real growl under full throttle....

:)

Im in the same boat. Just replaced a budget lcb that was full of holes and a straight through twin centre exit with an rc40 single side exit and a maniflow manifold. I too miss the noise and really haven't noticed any difference in performance. It does look smarter and i know its more reliable tho.

Couldn't agree more :)

The sound of a mini is unique, strangely I prefer the sound of a mini to a lot of super-cars :)

I've gone wrong, I went for twin box Maniflow so it'd be quiet for the most part! Still makes some nice noises at higher revs though :)

I know what you mean!! but im also runing with SC drops so "noise" is par for the course.....I've sort of got used to them now....but would not want to go mre than a couple of hours in it with out a break...And I use ear defenders for anything more than a half hour blast. 1380...pipercross cone....6500 revs.....zero sound deadening......= LOTS of noise.....

i must be quite odd then, i dont care about the sound i will run the best exhaust for performance and then if it sounds good it is a bonus but if it doesn't i don't mind because it is as quick as it can be

But the difference in bhp between these two is like 1.5 or 2bhp. Im already geting 112bhp out of it anyway so to be honnest 110bhp is still enough..Plus now it sounds like its got some power.....

well you see thats the difference, i don't care how fast my car sounds, i just want the maximum i can get out of it, so for me i would be taking the extra 2 bhp any day

STraight cut gears and loud exhausts do my head in! especially for long journeys.

110bhp? whats your engine spec?
