I have two engines here, a 1275 MG metty, and a 1275 Metty Turbo.

Thinking about doing one up, but not sure which I want to go for... the NA or the turbo.

The NA would be easier and cheaper, and that would be a high-ish bore, 1330.
Where as the turbo will just have a higher boost, and a stg2 head.

Expected power
- 1330 about 100
- Turbo about 110

I know I keep on and on, but does anyone happen to live close-ish to Hereford/Worcester, that has either of the above, that I could have a go in? Just to see what they both feel like??

I know its cheeky, but I am half and half and which to choose.

Thanks

Give it BOOOOOOOSSSSTTTTT yoooouuuuuuufffffff!

Forced induction over Naturally Aspirated any day of the week mate.
Easy power gains if you build it right too, just turn up the boost when you want too.

Don't be shy with da psiiiiiiiii

Thing I have read over on other forums, it just seems, turbo builds are SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO much more expensive, when I can get the same power from a NA, but I guess with a turbo, it'll spin up faster?

Yes but with a N/A with that sort of power day to day reliability becomes an issue.
May be more expensive but it'll be better and loads more fun.

an engine is too much weight, go stripped out and take it out. sure the car would go alot quicker without all that weight.

Ye well go when we get my mini, there is also another meet in malvern for all the young lads that like to rag their minis lol

its usually less £££ to build a low boost turbo bottom end than an n/a because you dont need super duper trick crank/rods etc. its usually revs that knacker these parts and since a turbo doesn't need to rev past 6k you can spend the money saved here on other bits. a st2 turbo head is only £250 from morspeed.
