bad news... I tried to clean up the contacts and did a fairly good job but the problem is still there >_< Should i just follow the wires and check every connection now? O_O

yep, check all connections, earths, I take it you have tried a new fuse? and take the fuse off and put it back, take wires off and put them back, it might be enough to get a good contact,

sorry for the delay =]

one of the fuses was faulty but i replaced it and still nothing >_< , I'm waiting for good weather so i can get suck in with the wires... so far i only had a quick route around and found that a lot of the connections are mouldy and rusty so i will change them out ;D

Nothing like a thread revival, got the same problem, traced the wires and they all go to the right place, replaced all the connections on the numberplate light as I know it can be a good place for a short, get a pathetic reading if I test the voltage running through the side and numberplate light, could it be the fusebox?

YES YES ,BRILL ,lost tail lamps dash lamp ,this post saved me hours... THANKS TO ALL POSTS.   this was a dry contact no3 fuse , old (prof mecs) can allways learn   THANKS ALL
