but i suppose this is a bit of a project update....

this whole disc malarky is quite nice....not that i really used them... but it's good to know they're there..
i must say that a new rear subframe, new shock, cones, hilos and with the track an couple of inches wider, the grip is fantastic.

how rust free is that compared to our MK1's
how's my floor?

Like the Reverse rims!
They're actually the right way round, they've just been widened. And then dremeled a bit to clear the calipers.
Model it on this one!
hmmm.. it's interesting but it seems (and i hope i don't offend anyone here) a bit bland.
I've basically reached my styling goal, except for the cooper s flares and new paint.
Love it mate, she is real little gem.In my opinion I wouldn't paint it,its just oozing with patina. Not many of the GB minis have old original paint like yours.I've got an old cali vw bus with original paint and I'm keeping it like it is for as long as possible.Gives them feel.Anyway all the best with your project, you've got a goodun.
cheers... but.. it'll be painted.

The same colours, however. I found someone who'll do it for a carton 'o beer...
I just hope a wire wheel can get rid of all that patina....

The front suspension geometry is now nearly fully adjustable (no front hilos yet).
I've already been in trouble with the wife for the time it takes me to get places now.
"There's no way you should've got there that fast."

Now I take detours and have more fun on the way there.. all's good

We had a Local Mini Show on at the end of last year (in comparison to the UK shows it really is a "Mini" show, 150 or so cars)
I decided that the show needed something new and , perhaps, a little unusual.
So I worked a little creative magic and here's the result....

nice 'ey?

here i am coming 4th in the exhaust sound-off with 102.5dB... (the muffler's in the boot

all that effort didn't go to waste.....
I won people's choice!

since then, things are getting dangerous...
i've just bought myself one of these....

It's a supercharger from the toyota 4agze....
I'm now setting the wheels in motion to get my kit ordered (made by a local guy).
An idea i had is to take the S part of the BMW MINI Cooper S badge and stick that on the tail end of my Morris 850 badge..
I figure if a Morris 1100 S can have a 1275 engine, my 850 S can have a Supercharged 1100 engine..

Here's the installed kit in another car.. nice and snug...

that's a 998 (stock inards) with a mildly ported 1275 head and it gave a nice 78hp at the wheels on a dyno that was under reporting..
should be interesting....
