hi there, i have a 93' 998cc mini city E, i have recently changed both front outer CV joints and wheel bearings, two weeks along the line i lost drive.. i checked the drive shafts and the o/s driveshaft has popped out of the outer CV joint. i have checked the engine mounts and engine stays and all is good. the clip was fine and the o/s was done 3-4 weeks after the n/s CV joint was changed and that is fine.. why would the o/s shaft pop out as all was tight?/ cheers sarah

It's because the mini looks like a smurf!

The shafts are different lengths, it may be possible that someone has fitted the short one on both sides, so when you steer full lock it may pop the joint? I'd still think it would pop out of the gearbox first though! Check the teeth on the shaft/inside the CV as they may have been damaged, if the clip was not seated correctly when fitted then this may be why..
