My wheels arrived in work today, they are 12x6 supalites deep dish. My father has cut away at the wings for the wheels to fit. I have bought wood and pickett arches and they are currently being sprayed. However, i fitted one wheel today and even though I dont have my arches to tell, we're pretty sure the arch won't cover the top of the wheel. I've seen a few pictures on the internet of cars running the same wheels and arches as me though? Has anyone got any suggestions on what I could do to get away with it as I don't fancy spending more money on some new arches.

there isn't a easy answer

1/ down grade to drum brakes alround
2/ fit wider arches
3/ fit narrower wheels

I take it you mean the arches aren't wide enought to cover the wheels fully? You may get away with using what you have, I have 12x6 covered in group 2 narrow's and you can just about see the tyre tread from above but I've had no problems with MOT. Believe W&P are the same width as gp 2 narrow's i.e. 1.75".

W&P can clear 12x6 Superlites, Pauly on here has them on his Mini :D

Ive tried on 12x6 superlites with my standard grp2 arches, and at the back they are fine, with the front ones tyre sticking out a little, but nothing that I would be too bothered about.

I'm glad to hear positive feedback :- yeah, I spoke to Pauly last night and he's got the same arches and wheels as mine so I can't see why mine wouldn't fit. Fingers crossed.
Thanks guys :D

If it does bother you or the local constabulary then you could try fitting negative camber bottom arms on, this tends to kick the top of the tyre inwards a bit so gives the illusion they are not so wide. Depends on how fussy your local bobbies are.

Wheels sticking out beyond the arch is nothing to do with the MOT... It is not part of the test...

well mine passed the mot with 13 x 7 and no arches at all, so i struggle to see how it is part of the test.
