I phoned up a company advertised in the back of the practical classics magazine(Hagerty), who said they are not going to waste my time, because they won't be able to insure, very polite & professional though, they are maybe worth a try for the older members!?, and gave me a number to "Need to insure", who have just quoted me £200 less than footman james.
Might be worth a punt for a few of you guys/gals!

£890 on a 1989 Flame Red, with stage 1 EXHAUST declared, 4.5k miles, kept on a drive overnight, License held for 4 months.
£980 on a 1989 Flame Red, with stage 1 KIT declared, 4.5k miles, kept on a drive overnight, license held for 4 months.
That may seem alot compared to some, but footman are wanting 1k + for me!

ive been on my dads insurance since i passed
I hope he is the main driver and not you as this is illegal - and yes I know we all do it - which is fine until we need to make a claim and then they refuse to pay out!!

Oh, and the cars valued at 2.8k.
you say valued at 2.8k . is that an agreed valuation, or just what you have told them its worth, normal with an agreed valuation you need to send pictures and details of the work done, and condition.
