Any ideas how much it would be for a 17yr old just about to take my test, on a totally standard 1975 mini?

hi people, not been on here long. Im looking into buying a mini.. Can anyone suggest any good sites and insurers at cheaper prices.ive not passed yet but will be and im 18. Ive been quoted £1500 on the cooper sportpack. Cheaper than alot of other cars but i want cheaper 
. Plus are they easy to moddify?

my step daughter who is 18 and has an f reg mini her first years insurance was just over a grand now its coming round to the renewal and she is about to get married and move onto a raf base her insurance will be about £500 and she is fully comp. if anybody wants an extra security send me a message or look for me in traders section.
