I'm six foot and built a mini smaller than standard (a minus) and still fit (just :fear: )

I've heard of some very tall people fitting in them with no real problems so you should be fine.

Scary though another Adrian from Northampton :fear:  Soon we shall take over the world!!

Another 6 footer  You won't have a problem, but you may want to change the seats or adjust the steering rack so budget for these little personal bits to customise your mini to your liking... about 10 - 20 grand should do :cheese:

Hello

When i got in a mini after a 5 year gap i thought, i can't drive this. Felt like i'd be shoe horned in, and i'm only 5ft 10. They just grow around you, now it feels quite roomy.

In terms of money to spend well that depends on what you intend on doing, i bought and nearly new one for my first car and it done me proud. This one's a bit tired, but plan on having her restored.

It does seem much cheaper to buy a ready restored one though.

My advice is....buy one with disc brakes!!!!

That's ok then

I think to start with I would like to get a late 60s early mid 70s car that's been restored recently, like within 4 years and is just ready to enjoy and use. Then I can get a feel for the marque and customise small bits to begin with :P

My budget is probably about 2.5k max I think for the right car, although, I might squeeze a little more for something absolutely bang on! If I find something well sorted for a lot less I will still be there though!

One more thing, my mate, years and years ago took apart a 1960's 998cc Mini Cooper, it's a real shame as it's a classic, i'm going to try and get him to sell it on so it can be properly restored. What can I tell him to put it up for?

And finally is there a cars for sale section on this site )

Many thanks again

Adrian

Well good luck in finding a car mate, i think there is a for sale section here, but it seems mostly parts.

I noticed some nice motors on ebay, might be worth a look.

As for your mates mini cooper, it would depends on what sort of condition it's in and most importantly how complete it is.

I've seen ones that are a complete shed going for over a grand. :gasp:

Welcome to TMF!

If you want to get a feel for the Mini world, try to make it to Bingley Hall, Stafford on Sunday (Tomorrow!) There will be cars for sale, and TMF has a stand... you're more than welcome to walk up and introduce yourself.

Come say hello to me too, I am the one who's 6'6" and 21.5 stone, I manage to get in a mini with modded seats (though I drove a standard one 260 miles last week without any kerfuffle).

I'll probably be easy to spot, I'll have a bacon butty hangin out of me gob! :(

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

mr dayzee is just over 6 foot and is cramped in the passenger seat - would like very much for us to get a different set up so he can stretch his legs out.
