Thanks for your help. The postage to uk is $60 which doesn't seem right as I had 4kg from minispares for $80. I ended up getting a shop locally to do it and it looks good. I hope it's ok or I will be kicking myself for being stingey.

We find that postage can be a funny thing.... sometimes we get a quote to some countries that appears to Nasa's budget for the next 10 years then other times it's not too bad...

Which company did you get the quote from ?

That was just the standard Canada post by air mail. It must be cheaper if it's from a business. A r5 t2 turbo is the next item to come from the uk. Once I find one that is. I could of built 2 cars if I didn't have to pay all this postage.

Have you tried sending it all at once by transport company rather than courier ??

Building a turbo... you may be interested in our extra heavy duty layshafts ?? which can be found here

or even here ! :P

actually i need a gearbox as the idler gear area is chewed up on the one i have. the cases on mraminis are out of stock tho. Ive been thinking about going through guessworks for rebuilt box, uprated pin diff and straight cut drop gears for about 1000 pounds. The postage is about 80 quid which seems fine.

I thought about doing it all in one hit but this is a project and im not in any rush. I bought a ruined engine and gearbox for $600 and have plodded along with it for a year. Dont know what i would do without this site and the people on it tho.
