Daihatsu Jb-Det/jb-Jl Engine

hi all, i'm just thinking about the daihatsu engine, JB series is 4cylinder 16V turbocharged 660 from daihatsu. i think it may fit into mini. it produce around 47KW in std boost. maybe somebody out there had done such conversion, please share... thanks..

It will defn. fit into a mini, I am halfway thru doing an EF-JL (3 cylinder turbo 660cc) in one of my cars.
It does seem like a fair bit of work for just 47kW, having driven it already i can tell you that these engines only come alive when boost comes in............

Why would u bother? just a thaught really but all that work for about 50bhp arnt they?

Saying that though, im learning to drive in the seat ibiza 1.4 tdi, that has the same engine as the polo blue motion, its the 3 cylinder turbo diesel and its a suprisingly good engine, when it comes onto boost it doesnt hang about. They have like 180 torques (off the top of my head) and you can take it to 250 torques with a chip, and it will still return about 60mpg :D
