How was that Clubman one done? The Special Tuning.

Anybody thinking of doing a more modern version, How are you going to tackle it?

Or am i just sooo slow thinking about this that somone has already done one?

Most common way is to take a standard jeep 4x4 chassis and just plonk a Mini shell on the top !!

Harder way would be to modify the Mini diff to create a rear output shaft to feed a rear diff OR fit two engines and then they drive two wheels each !

If you use two engines they have to be linked through a common gear box or final drive otherwise its illegal.

That clubman wasn't very successful, as Bungle said only loose ground and I don't think it was very reliable. The other problem with 4WD systems is that they usually end up sucking power. And they are heavy. At the end of the day its not really worth it. Thats why its a very rare thing.

I realy do not think this is true
there are many twin engined cars about , i have seen a couple of VW golfs
and about 10 years ago a "Twinny" twin engined mini that was road legal
" practical performance car"magazine had a feature on twin engined cars not long back , i think they would have meantioned a little thing like it was illigal
