I seriously doubt that, the pressure plate's a lump of cast iron. The friction plate is a more likely culprit (and a lot cheaper), what is it doing exactly when you try to use it?

sounds like the diagnosis of the recovery man...

to be honest you will need to open it up to see whats happened.

But before then: what are the symptoms as if you've 'lost the clutch' - it could be something as simple as the hydraulics not working....

thats what i was driving at, does the car still drive, does it have any clutch or has the pedal gone solid and u have no drive, a discrption of fault helps alot more than no clutch
