Well it's like this, i have a 1200 bandit engine lying around not being used and just wondering if anyone has put one in a mini before? I know there have been a variety of different engines put in and i understand the work that has to go into it and not scared to put the hours and effort in, would it be worth it though? I'm looking for a fast road mini that would be used day to day.
It produces about 100bhp but then would have to be in the mini.

Would it be easier just to go with a modded 1293 or 1380 or put the effort in and use the bandit?

I have been doing a lot of research looking at different engines that can be squeezed into a small Microcar.
One of the reasons the Yamaha R1 is so popular is because it is so compact.
The other reason is the gear change is on the top of the gearbox so the chain run won't foul the gear change shaft :)
Some other engines have the gear change on the top like the Suzuki Bandit 1250 ( new water-cooled version)
Honda cbr fire blades and late Suzuki GSXR Engines
