Hello, been out changing my oil...

Hint: if the oil filter is stuck, hammer a screwdriver through it to turn it :cheese:

Thing is i can't get the new filter on, it seems like it has a larger hole for the thread than the last one, do they come with different thread sizes? Think the bloke at halfords might have sold me the wrong one... I'll try returning it now its full of oil.

Yes different cars have different filters, sounds like you've got the wrong one. Ignore Halfords muppet and look through the parts guide there yourself since you undoubtedly know more about your car than Halfords do. They generally get all the change points wrong in their books though or just ignore them so make sure you read the chart thoroughly and check you have the right one from what you know rather than what they tell you. Having said that with oil filters you should be alright as there's only been one or two changes. The major change with the cartridge type is when they changed to twin point.
