I sold them late last year, someone on ebay paid a horrific (high) amount of money for them!

There was a set of Comps on Ebay last week so they do come up for sale from time to time,I like them but I thought they did not suit my CE so I am going to go with a set of KN turbos instead.Just need to refurb they and get new boots.

Bit of a thread revival here.

2 weeks ago I got the mini out after not driving it for 5 months!!!!!

Didn't really want to start but a jump of the passat he was fine. Turned it off. Went to start it again, starter solenoid had given up.

Anyway, replaced that and drove it when it was sunny for a couple of weeks.

When the exhaust fell off......



Next was MOT time, which prompted me to do a few minor things I hadn't got round to for a while, also swapped the steering wheel. passed MOT first time with no minors :)



Ever since I built this engine, there has been the frustrating issue of a high idle speed and the carbs knocking the bulkhead. Hopefully worked out why. So carb rebuild time :)





In non mini news, inherited my first real project,




All the while I am getting on with building my garage, hopefully some pictures of that will follow soon.

The story, greatly cut down goes.

 

Recently my Great great aunt and uncle have passed away.

When my dad was younger, him and his three brothers used to drive around their field in 2 mini pickups.

When their land was being cleared ready for sale, I was hoping to come across these two pickups, but instead came across this! I was told "its going for scrap, take it if you want it." so i did just that, alot of work, but its so rare, it just cant go.

After taking the carbs on and off more times than i wish to say.

 

I have located the horrifically annoying knocking sound to.............. the steering rack.

 

Whilst changing that I am in process of swaping my Diagonal split brake system for a front rear split with bias valve.

 

Hopefully all in time for the trip to IOM for the Southern 100!
