Next year (Spring time) we are proposing to hold a mini rally in the Leicester area in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis trust.
You may be asking yourself what is Cystic Fibrosis?
- Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases.
- Cystic Fibrosis affects over 9,000 people in the UK.
- Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population.
- If two carriers have a child, the baby has a 1 in 4 chance of having Cystic Fibrosis.
- Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.
- Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.
- Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.
- Only half of those living with Cystic Fibrosis are likely to live past their late 30s.
Our ultimate goal is to have mini's and other classic cars from all over the country conviene on this event to show support of the charity and just to make the day memorable for everyone
Basically at the moment i am just looking for support of the idea....so would you attend??
We have had a few ideas on what would be at the event such as:
- £5.00 entry for all show cars
- Club stands ofcourse will be more than welcome
- possible trade stalls etc.
- Food and drink stalls
So yer, let me know what you think, all ideas and comments are welcome the more the merrier.
Thanks very much
Dave and Becki
