And I stand by it... the automatic transmission has a case that is so much stronger than the manual.... which incidentally there is a manual on the scene with 318bhp
Back to auto.... the choice of components is critical, some parts will be fine others need uprating much as per manual really, people get all scared about the auto's because its the great unknown, and apparently works on Voodoo and other black magic
Also if it did go bang the chances are your engine would survive or at least stand a greater chance of survival when compared to a manual box....
and once you get the sort of torque you are talking about the auto will out accelerate a comparable manual, simply because the gearchanges are 20 times quicker.... and the automatic is designed for torque, ie torque convertor multiplies torque from a standing start.
