sorry to resurrect an old thread but, when supercharging an auto 1275 spi, what do you do with the kick down linkage? Im told the throttle body is moved towards the front of the engine bay which would be well out of reach of the linkage.
Has Anyone Supercharged A 1275 Auto

My wife once had a new Datsun 280ZX Auto with an after-market turbocharger. It was, to put it bluntly, dangerous. I once drove it at night in the wet and coming into a corner which tightened I needed to squeeze just a bit more power on. Just as I lightly pressed the pedal to keep it on line through the corner it kicked down and the turbo cut in simultaneously. Wow, I needed all my experience and then some to prevent it from going off. After that I hated it and would not drive it unless I had to. Fortunately it was a company car and shortly after that she resigned to start her own business, so it went away - hooray! Next car she had was a BMW 323i. Now that was very nice to drive.
I've never liked turbo-chargers, even though my current diesel car has one.
Why would anyone want to put forced induction on a classic automatic Mini?

uprated plates, bands are a start, we have a set list of parts that need to be modified, for commercial reasons we only fit them in to a full rebuild, we do not sell them individually...
Appologies if this seems a little harsh, however we need to protect our business.
Better I don't tell where most autobox parts are easily available then ![]()

Why not? People put no end of other junk on them - I'd think a soft blown auto would be quite nice.
As an aside I turned the traction control off on a merc C270 cdi and it was pas unpredicitble to say the least. More prone to suddenly kicking the tail out than a 911 turbo.
It's as well to drive any car, particularly a modded car that you have no experience in with a little caution for the first few miles until you get to know each other. I've just bought a Kawa ZX10 with about 200BHP and we are still getting to know each other - the power is vicious but controlable once you get to know her - try it when you you don't know her and you'll fly all the way to heaven in the first twist of the throttle ![]()
