on the lower end of that price then, it would be better to get something with less miles on the clock if you are going to be using it reguarly, there are plenty of Mpi's like that kicking around....

I would say up to £3,500 but it depends how bad you want it. I got mine for just under £1,400.

Very observant, really i was wondering whether it was worth improving this mini by buying new seats and chrome items etc., or if that would be a waste of money when it came to selling it again.

Its better to get an old mini with very little in the way of interior and then change seats, dash etc, the Mpi's are v nice inside w all that leather, i think it would be butchering it really.

A standard trim mini will out sell a modified one every day of the week.. it's the same as these "how to sell you house" programs...

De-personalise the car, make it as standard as possible, as will never claw back the money you spend on trick bits.

If you want to keep the car, then by almean personalise, but don't do it to the detrement of not being able to revert it back to the original form. If you change the interior. stick the original one in the loft, same with wheels...

I completely agree, I only mean to change the plastic handles and lamps etc. to chrome, not to rip the seats out and replace them with sports ones. I was really looking for official second hand full leather seat covers to replace my half leather ones with, but i have every intention of keeping the original features like the walnut dash etc..

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck finding such covers only imitation ones from newton commercial or other places, but i was hoping to keep it as original as possible. Any ideas where i could find some? I've tried advertising in many 'Wanted' forum sections across the internet...

Also do you know how much a new similar engine would cost to fit and whether i would get any of the money spent back when selling the car as it would have a very low milage?

Thank you, you've been very helpful!

I'd hardly call newton commercials immitations, their work is probably of better quality than the original seats, but you don't half payfor it...

I was lucky enough to get some seat covers of theirs on ebay, they sell stuff off every so often, and the work that has gone into them is brilliant.

As for engines... only replace it if it's broken, otherwise better off leaving as is....
What do you think of if buying a 2nd hand car and the seller says, it had a new engine last year... in other words, the old one was sh&&ed, what else is busted as well ?? that they havnt told you about...
