just recieved some spark plugs thro ebay.

my daughter got them for me for my birthday now what happened was i told her there IRIDIUM for rover / mini
you will see them there about 17 quid plus post. ( I forgot to say NGK )

So she orderd me some and just got them some AGA crappy looking plugs found out made in China no way putting in my mini. So sending back
Now NGK iridium plugs in my daily road car NOT MINI are great you can feel more response so thought try in my mini
so wanted to let people know make sure they say NGK if ordering any as this site that were bought from did not say make

Don't assume there a well known plug beware

How they think they'll get away with it I don't know, I've had good luck with http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/ in the past.

Thats not the first time i hear about this kind of issue.. :(

(Anyway, unless you have megajolt mappable ignition i cant really see the need for iridium plugs)

Not that I want to start the sparkplug debate again. but unless you have knackered or incorrectly rated plug in in the first place, not plug will make more power or make your car run smoother. Any such effet is caused by putting the right or new plug in, rather than the plugs actually being any better.

'Feel' is also not calibrated.

Still, bummer that they tried to rip you off. I run irridium plugs in my hillclimber because they are the only ones that fit, best thing about them is they last for 40,000miles, and I do 200 a year maximum, so I should never need to buy any more!

I was recommended:

NGK BPR6EVG (beste) oder BPR6ES
BOSCH Mini 1.3, i 1,3 39-46 <SPi> 02.90-09.00 Super plus (WR 7 DC+) 0.80 mm 0 242 235 663

Presently I am using below plugs on my SPI since several thousand miles and are happy with these.
BOSCH Super 4 (WR 78) 0 242 232 504 H

So what exactly is this a warning about? Are you under the impression iridium is a brand name of NGK? It's an element. AGA do make an iridium range of plugs. They are not a crappy make of plug and are an OEM supplier to quite a few companies both inside and outside of China. You don't want them because they are made in a Chinese factory for a Chinese company rather than made in a Chinese factory for a Japanese company like NGK? If you want NGK plugs, order NGK plugs. NGKs have traditionally been the best choice for Minis but that doesn't mean someone can't develop something better.
