Today... i set out replacing the bushes on my rear subframe, one side came off with alot of WD40 but no problems the other side, well thats didnt go so well!

It moved so easily, i thought all was going to plan until...



...That happened

Can this be fixed and if it can how???

i gather by the pic you sheared the head off and the threaded section is still left in the subframe,have you tried a little heat,then grips to do up and gently undone backwards and forwards.cheers murf.

Thats right, so does the thread actually continue into the subframe? i thought the thread was actually attached/part of to the subframe...

That stub doesn't come off, it is part of the subframe so you will need to do a repair on it.

Try the search function, i have seen other threads with photos showing some repair possibilities

Did same on one of ours. I drilled the bolt section out of the outer sleeve part.
Found a bolt that slid into the hole I'd just made and made a stud out of the bolt that slid into the sleeve part.
I then drilled sideways through the sleeve part and welded the stud in through the holes I'd just made.

I was thinking something similar!
Getting it dead centre is the only problem... i know theres a slightly bentsub frame in the local scrappy, going to get them to cut me a piece off just incase i mess up the drilling

I dont think it matters too much if you drill it slightly off, the stub itself will still be in the correct position
