Hi everyone,
I'm on the look-out for a 12G295 cylinder head for my 998, I haven't seen any for sale for a while and was wondering if anyone had one they are willing to part with?
Will consider all conditions (i.e. in need of a refurb but not scrap, or just bolt on and go, or anywhere in between!).
Many thanks, Sven.

Well one of them I may keep for my mini when it's completed. Rimflow valves, fully ported, pressed rockers, unleaded seats all nice and clean & painted. So if I do sell it I'd want at least £250.
The other one is leaded and a bit oily & dirty, but in excellent condition, and with all valves present. I've told my brother he can have it if he wants it, but I need to wait until he's back from Uni so he can decide. If he doesn't want it then it'll be up for grabs.
Would a 12g202 be an option for you? Almost the same as a 12g295, and theres one on eBay now for £35. It need a good wire brushing session though

what are the differences and what would I need to do to get it on my 998?

Well the 295 has slightly larger inlet valves than the 202, and they both have the same exhaust valve size. A 202 might need to be skimmed slightly to increase compression. A 295 will also need to be skimmed, but a bit more than the 202. Other than that it fits straight on

your call really, you could get a 202 or a 295 for £150. And if it needed a skim that wouldn't be more than £50 at a machine shop

I think I'll hold off for and get a 12g295... I've just read around a bit and various sources tell me that the 202 isn't that great.... so once again, does anyone have a 12g295 they'd like to sell?

Don't worry about hijacking my thread or anything, you're very welcome
Seriously though, I'm only joking, these 12G295 heads seem to be pretty sought after nowadays... and that means the prices are rising a tad as well, I swear they never used to be this much
