Bit of an update. Got the spit. I've removed both subframes ready to put it on the spit.

Cool, How long do you reckon it's going to take you to restore it?

I said I'd like to have it done for this show season but I highly doubt that'll happen. Just as soon as possible really, depends how busy I am with other work.

Remembered today that I needed to remove the tail gate to put it on the spit. That was a lot easier said than done! 4 philips headed bolts that have been in the load bed for 42 years!
Had to weld bolts on them but got them out okay
Also got the steel to modify the spit today :)

That is a good looking pickup for the year as well, looks like it will be a good project, not as bad a some that i have seen.
Cant wait to see this take shape :)

But it has some big creases in it & the whole side had a about an inch of filler on it -
Looking good mate, I was just wondering what you are using yo get such a clean finish when stripping your filler? Mine is equally as think but leaves remnants all over the metal when I pull it off.
All the best,
Connor

I just used a fairly soft wire brush on an angle grinder.
